Not because of the "good kids" that tend to go to a private school or the "small class sizes" that tend to go to a private school. but because of the underlying love and the freedom to express it that i received from kids and esp. their parents. Sure, i have the same amt. of parents who are on me today (and will "take me to the school board")in public schools as i did in private (i don't know who they take controversial teachers to there...the Pope?:) ). My dad always said, good teachers draw crowds....
But i remember one parent in OKC Catholic Schools who brought me my favorite Braum's drink...cherry limeade...to conferences because she knew i was having a long night and would need a drink....and i remember a parent without pay, using his expertise services in law, coverting showing up to support me with an unruly parent. I will never forget those moments..and there were more...the "godly love" and support in my catholic school experience is unique and everlasting. They even supported me when this [little Baptist] teacher tried to implement "gospel singing" into the mass with my students...they loved me just the way i was!
Thank you Catholic Schools.
