It is very painful, and in some ways I am grateful we were spared more of the suffering that surely would have come had he continued on this earth. In some ways, I'm grateful my mom didn't have years and years of living with someone so confused. This is truly unconditional love at its finest, and for the friend or family member, suffering at its deepest. The quote at the end, though...simply beautiful and so well-matched.
